Areas of Practice
My focus is primarily on the areas listed below. Depending on your specific issue, I can also offer our support in other areas. I work closely with colleagues with other specializations.
Civil law
Private law
From the highly theoretical to the very concrete – through analysis of your contracts, other legal documents or the facts at hand, I provide counsel on legal problems before and after they arise, your possible claim and whether the claim is worth pursuing.
Litigation
I represent clients in- and outside of Austrian courts in all types of civil procedures.
Contract law
I offer my support in drafting or reviewing contracts and other documents.
Divorce and family law
I provide support in divorce proceedings as well as in the family law cases that frequently accompany them.
Tenancy and property law
I provide counsel on lease agreements and property issues. This includes drafting and analyzing lease agreements, filing or defending against actions for termination and eviction as well as support in disputes with neighbors.
Real estate law
I provide support with real estate transactions throughout Austria by drafting the contracts, arranging other necessary paperwork, taking on escrow duties, dealing with land authorization rules and applying for entry in the land registry.
Criminal Law
Criminal defense
Being suspected of a crime can be an intimidating experience, with possibly far-reaching consequences for your personal and professional future. You face a large state apparatus working against you in a procedure that you do not know, based on charges that you may not know, and in a language you may not even be familiar with.
Taking the right steps early on is important and begins the first time you speak to the authorities. It is easy to deliver a poor statement – you may be tired, scared, confused and not even fully aware of the charges leveled against you. This can however be very hard to correct later on, whereas a good statement may convince the authorities to end an investigation early.
I provide comprehensive support and representation – from the first police interrogation to the final trial proceedings.
Enforcement of victim claims
Being a victim of a crime can be an equally harrowing experience. There is the crime itself, and then there everything that happens after. Victims have several rights in a criminal procedure. This includes the right to – under certain conditions - be confronted with the perpetrator as little as possible as well as the right to apply for compensation for injuries or property damage.
I support victims of criminal acts by helping them prepare and file their criminal complaint and apply for any claims of compensation. In addition, I offer guidance and information during ongoing cases.
